Mid-September for the life of a teacher is a whirlwind.
I will never forget coming into this school 6 years ago as a sub. Everyone was so welcoming and kind. I give credit to Coach Wilson for bringing me in under her wing and showing me how to love these kids as my own. Every teacher, administrator, staff member, and student has touched my heart deeply. When I began this job I was just a lost kid trying to make it in the adult world. Each person here has helped to shape me into the adult I have become and the teacher I am PROUD to be. I wear that title like a badge of honor because I know that being a teacher means more than the one year that we “teach” the students. Although times are not always perfect, I can fall asleep every night knowing that I am contributing to the world.
Ferguson may be closing, but these students will go on in my heart for as long as I am alive. They have shaped my life in ways that I could never imagine. They have made me laugh, made me cry, and at times made me so angry I thought my blood might boil out of my eyes.
So bring on the rest of the year because I am excited to know my students better, push my athletes further, and end this chapter with a bang!

- Our days here at Ferguson are made by our students.
- We are busy bustling around with volleyball and football in athletics.
- We are rushing to turn in paper work for our ARD’s.
- We are trying to teach with new books even though we do not have enough for each student.
- We are making parent phone calls.
- We are frantically grading papers before the 5 p.m. deadline.
- We are building positive relationships with our students.
- We are collecting data from our campus assessment.
- We are tutoring students.
- We are getting here early and staying late to set up our classrooms
