This is my first year teaching at Ferguson.,and I must say that I have been amazed at the support that has been given to me in my short time here. The administration and other teachers are always available to answer those trivial questions that come with working in a new place. So please accept my sincere thanks in helping to make my job easier.
This week has been kind of a doozy. As school was closed on Friday because of Mother Nature's fury, I've had to adjust plans and activities to make sure my classes remain on schedule. All in all, everything went well and it was a good learning opportunity. It taught me to always stay on your toes because changes do come up and sometimes you just have to step up and conquer.
We have just started discussing the Mexican Revolution in Texas history and the students seem to get a kick out of it. They like the idea that anyone can rise up together when they feel that they are being mistreated or misrepresented. I am excited for the next few lessons because we are going to start to see where Texans get that arrogant Texan attitude from. It all starts with a group of people in the early 1800's who decided that they were fed up with the old ways so they broke away and forged their own path. This is going to be fun!
