The word “Titan” means being of a prodigious size, strength, or achievement.Titans are children from the gods and is the name of one of Saturn’s moon. In Greek mythology, Titans were the second order of divine beings meaning that they were descending from primordial gods and were preceding the Olympian gods.
I think our mascot, Titans, was chosen because it represents strength and courage. It represents us well because it shows us that if we put our mind up to the challenge and work together, we can achieve anything.
There are many students at Ferguson that show the true qualities of a Titan. One of my classes is always working hard, they are working together whenever someone needs help with a question or problem, and they listen to the teacher and pay attention to them whenever the teacher is talking or teaching.

Every school has a mascot. Carter has the cougars, Shackleford has the patriots, but at our school we are the titans. But, have you ever wondered why our school mascot is the titans?
First, you have to know what titans are. The Titans were members of the second order of divine beings, descending from the primordial gods and preceding the Olympian gods. I think the name Titan was chosen for our school because they were known for being brave, big, and strong.
There’s someone I know who I think is a true titan, and that’s my mom. She’s always not afraid to do anything. She uses her strength when something is hard, and she’s not that big but she fits the titan. I hope everyone has characteristics of the titan because that is our school mascot.

The definition of a titan is a Greek mythological god, but I don’t think that’s the way to define the Ferguson Titans. A titan is a really important person. When I say important person, I mean someone who has done something extraordinary, or made history. Another way to define a titan is someone who is powerful and great in a certain field. Basically, a titan is someone who is important and powerful.
There could be many reasons why our mascot is a titan. The first principal, Mr. Tapia, might have just liked how that sounded, but I think it goes deeper. I think he thought that this was going to be a great school with great students, so we needed something to represent that. If we wanted to show our power of intelligence and good character, then Titans was just the name we needed.
I think most of the students here at Ferguson have done something Titan worthy. I know some people who talk to everyone and are never rude or mean, which shows good character. I also know other people that exceed in every subject, which shows power and intelligence. Our school basically defines the term titan. To be truthful, the Ferguson Titans always have shown Titan quality and always will.
